I am a very big fan of the self-storage business. I have gone to hundreds of self-storage centers in my lifetime. I know how they work inside and out. I love them and have been in the process of buying a few for a friend who is moving, and I have the perfect space for my self-storage needs, with a corner office, storage, a garage, and some extra space for my bikes.
I know how to set up a space like that, plus I also have the right tools to get it done quickly and efficiently. In all honesty, my largest challenge was finding the right size storage bin for my needs. I went online and saw a chart that said that a 12′ x 12′ x 3′ bin will hold my stuff.
Yeah, I don’t know what that means. There are some things you can do online to get a better idea of how much space you’ll need.
As you can see on our chart, the key thing to remember is that it doesnt mean the same thing in every situation. The actual size of your storage unit you want to use is dependent on the size of your belongings you are storing. Most people store their extra bike parts in a box, but some even store them in their car. So if you have a car, you probably know what size bin you should be using.
Like most things, there is no one size fits all. Different sizes (and shapes) of storage bins are the norm, so get a feel for what size you need and that will help you know what to buy.
You’re probably thinking, “That’s right! A car!” But there are a few other considerations when it comes to storage bins. First, they should be able to fit whatever you need. Second, they should be able to fit what you need them to. If you have a lot of small items, you may want to choose a smaller bin. Or maybe a smaller car.
You never know when youll need a car that has to fit your needs, so I would recommend going with a smaller car. You can always add more stuff to the car if needed. The same goes for storage bins. With smaller bins, you may need to purchase a larger one. I’d say you should go for a size that will accommodate all of your biggest items. This is something I usually recommend.
There are two types of storage bins, plastic bins and metal bins. Plastic bins are designed to hold a lot of small items and are lightweight. They are great for keeping kitchen items, or small items like pens and pencils. Metal bins are designed for heavier items like computers and large appliances. For these you will want to go for a metallic bin.
If you only have one or two of each of the following items, you can probably squeeze in a smaller one. If you have more than one of each of these items, you can probably get by by either with the smaller size containers. Don’t forget to look into making a big bin for your larger items. You may want to consider a large storage bin that can hold at least two (or more) of each of your items.
For the same reason that a person with a big bin will have a nice thick layer of dust around them, a computer with a big storage bin means everything in your house—and everything your kids, and your pets, and your stuff—can sit up in a nice, thick layer of dust. This would be an excellent place for dust to accumulate while you’re away from the PC.
