It is easy to get caught up in the “what if” scenario.
If we think back to the first movie where the first generation of superheroes was born, it becomes easy to imagine why we’ve been so enamored with the idea of taking the best thing from that time and creating something new. It is because there is nothing more awesome than an idea that we can create something that is going to be even better. In the case of the superhero genre, the superhero that we see today is not the same as what we saw in the first movie.
For example, in the first movie the hero is a kid who was raised by a superhero and then became a superhero himself. In the case of the DC Extended Universe, the “hero” is an adult who becomes a superhero. In today’s universe the hero is basically a person who is just like everyone else. The only difference is that he has superpowers. And so it becomes easy to imagine that we can make a hero that is just like everyone else.
While that may be true in the case of the heroes of the DCU, it also implies that Superman is just like everyone else. Superman is the embodiment of the ideals of the world he lives in and he is the ultimate symbol of that world. He has his own distinct powers, but he is not an exact copy of anyone else. In the DCU, he is a new hero created by Superman’s team of heroes.
In fact, a new hero who is just like everyone else (especially in his powers) is a pretty good idea. In the DCU, we have two heroes that do just that: Bruce Wayne and Batman. Batman is an ideal of Batman. He is very similar to everyone else, but he is also much more powerful. Batman has his own unique powers, he has his own style and he has his own sense of justice. In a sense, Batman is a copy of Superman.
In the DCU, you have a new hero that is like everyone else. He is just like everyone else, that is: the hero you love to hate. Like all heroes, he has his own unique powers, his style and his own sense of justice. In a sense, Batman is a copy of Superman.

This is the only time I feel like I’ve ever said something about Superman that people actually took the time to read. So I feel like I owe a huge apology. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know that I have a special affection for Superman, and I’ve talked about it in my articles and podcasts, but it was always just a passing thing.

A big part of how I feel about Superman is that he can do anything. In this case, he can take out a lot of people, but he can not kill them. He can take out an entire city, but he can not kill them. He can take out a country, but he can not kill them. He can fly to the moon, but he can not kill them. He can take out a planet, but he can not kill them.
