The main problem is that you generally don’t have a lot of time to be cautious. The majority of homeowners that we encounter in our training classes, and the majority of the homeowners we visit for our show and tell, are busy doing something that they know is bad for their property, that is, they are building a new home or remodeling their home. Even the ones that have the time to be cautious are not taking enough time to be careful.
We call this the “fear loop” because it works like a loop in our head where we are scared because something bad is going to happen, then when it happens we are scared because we didnt do something right, then we take the first action we could have taken and go on to the next action. The problem is that our actions are typically not cautious enough.
