While we still should be aware that we are in a state of improvement in our current home, the more important level is to know where we are in our home as we move into the next one. I think we can all agree that this is the level we need to be focused on. While this level is a little easier to get to, we also need to be aware of what we actually want to accomplish as we move forward.
The point is, we all need to stop and take a step back and look at the things that we like and dont like about our current home. If we had a house that was in need of renovation, and we spent the last 5 years trying to make it look as good as it could have looked, we wouldn’t be thinking of taking the time to do this job right now. We would be spending all of our time worrying about what we don’t like about our house.
I agree. We need to take a step back and just start figuring out what we want to accomplish as we move forward. We need to decide what we are going to do with our time and energy, and then focus on what we want and need to accomplish. This is crucial when it comes to any other career we might want to pursue. In a business, we have to make a decision every day about what we are going to do and what we are going to spend our time on.
This is the same thing you would have to do in a job interview. You have to decide whether you are going to be the person your interviewer wants to hire and you need to focus on what that person wants from you. Or you can just make your decisions more loosely based on what you think would make you the most effective employee at work.
This is one of the more difficult jobs to get in to. There is a lot of competition and the competition is to sell as many houses as possible. This is a job that if you don’t have the right mindset, you could be stuck doing it for years. One thing we can all agree on is that the most important decision you will make in your career will be how much money you spend on your house.
