I love the way we’ve used this to organize our closets. We don’t have a huge closet in our house. We have a small closet in the living room of our house. When we first got married we had a large family, so there was a lot of clothes and shoes in that closet. But the closet in our master bedroom was smaller and we weren’t really having a house full of people so we decided to move our things there.
That closet in the master bedroom was very long, so we decided to use that space to organize our clothes. After we moved our clothes to the bedroom closet, we realized that we had a lot of shoes that ended up in that closet. So after we moved our own stuff, we decided to move the shoes that we had in our bedroom closet to the closet under the master bedroom. It was a very easy way to keep our shoes and clothes in a very organized way.
The only problem was that we had to re-adjust the closet’s dimensions to fit all our furniture. I don’t know how that was supposed to work, but it was a really good exercise so I’m glad we tried it.
It’s a great way to organize that closet. In our previous house, we did everything on a big sheet of paper because that way we could tell what was where. We also had shoe boxes that were very easy to get to by just sliding a shoe into one of the boxes. This time we decided to use an online inventory system called Home Edit to keep track of our shoes. We can also easily sort our closet by color, sizes, etc.
