One reason that new construction can be expensive is that you must purchase containers for your new supplies. The containers are the first thing that you use to store your supplies, and it is a good idea to use the right container for your supplies.
The cost of containers can be one of the biggest reasons why people get stuck in a new construction job. For instance, I had a friend tell me last year that he was supposed to purchase a few new construction materials for his house. He ended up spending $150 for all of the right supplies. Unfortunately, when he got back from the store he found that his new concrete had cracked. He ended up having to replace it with a few months of replacement materials.
This is a common problem that new construction owners (especially those who are new to DIY) run into. Many new homeowners have the mindset that they need to purchase a bunch of supplies and then they don’t. In reality the right supplies for one job might be totally different than what you need to do the job that same way.
That’s one of the things that makes this job so frustrating; when something isnt right in your new construction home, youre left with no real sense of how to fix it. I think that’s a huge problem in the DIY world because many new homeowners have no idea how to do what they need to do to fix things without going to a professional.
We recently spoke with an architect who had the same problem. He told us that he had to buy two large flat panel TVs and two flat panel monitors, for a total of $20,000, and that he didn’t have sufficient room on his kitchen counter for the two extra monitors. He also had to buy a ton of light fixtures, many of them being used in the house, for about the same price as the flat panel TVs.
The problem is that many “new construction” homes do not have the necessary space for extra monitors, TV’s, and light fixtures. If you don’t have a real estate professional, you will likely be paying upwards of $6000 for these items. In our experience, people that don’t have any idea what they are doing are usually not satisfied with the results of their efforts.
I can’t say I blame them for having such feelings. They probably just got lucky that the prices were so low. Most of the time, it is better to spend money on things that you know are going to work, but this is the last time you should be spending money on things that you dont know are going to work.
There is a reason why containers are expensive. As with most things in life, it is cheaper and more efficient to buy a few containers that you know will work and then pay for them in full price.
That’s not an uncommon reason for why containers are expensive, but it is rare we hear of someone buying a few cheap ones so they can put one in the freezer for a rainy day. Some people just do it because they can.
The reason why containers are expensive is because they are so hard to find. They are the most expensive part of a container that you are going to keep for a long time. Once you find a container at a reasonable price, you should be able to use it for almost a month without a problem, and at that point you can sell it for a profit. This is why it is so expensive to buy them.
