We’ve done a lot of remodeling our home over the years. It’s a good plan. But it’s also a very big undertaking. The best part about it is that when you’re done with your remodel, you can move directly into two very nice bedrooms.
When we originally got married we wanted a nice home with lots of bedrooms and a very big backyard. We knew getting a house with a big backyard would be difficult. We were also used to living in a small house with a small yard. So our basement remodel idea was a good one.
That was the plan. But after a year of remodeling, we realized our house is already quite big and we didn’t want more bedrooms than we already had. So we decided to go with a little more space, a little more open space, and some much needed storage space.
After two years of remodeling, we did a little more remodeling of the basement. We had a few surprises along the way, but we managed to get a good amount of storage space in there. We really love it in the main part of the basement, but we also have some extra storage space in a small room of the basement.
That room is actually full of boxes, and boxes are a big part of our basement. We have a few boxes that we can’t fit in the main part of the basement (such as a few old TVs and a few office chairs) and we have boxes that we can fit in here, so we have a small room of the basement to give ourselves more storage space.
This might not sound like a big deal, but some remodeling can be really easy if you have the right tools. It’s not always about doing it yourself, but if you have the right tools and the right knowledge, it can be do-able. Sometimes all you need is a pair of hands and some creativity, especially if you have an idea in your head that you know will work.
A lot of people I know have remodel-proof homes, with everything built to last, and have just done the work themselves. So they have to be good builders, but they don’t have to be good at DIY remodeling. If they are good at it, they can do it really well and get the job done. Even if they are good at DIY, they can use tools they already have, or make their own.
