This is one of those articles that makes me cringe when I first read it, and it happens again and again. I am writing this article to share with you that for years, I have had a very hard time accepting any of the services I have been receiving from moving companies. The first thing I did when I arrived at my new home was to call and complain to the company that was to perform the move.
I have since learned that if I call the first company I was told to complain to, that I should expect a call back within a few days. This is especially true if I call after I’ve moved, so I’m much more inclined to believe the company’s claims of a problem if they respond to a call within two days.
I guess I should be thankful that I have a home that hasn’t been a total shambles and that I haven’t had to spend any time at all moving. I live in Seattle, right in the middle of the country, and I have to spend a lot of time commuting in between my new job and home to get to and from. But I can’t complain that I am lucky to have been able to use time moving companies.
After a lot of digging, we found that the people who move for service companies are quite often not the ones that you think they are. In fact, the real problem is that many of the workers move for companies that dont give a crap about the clients they are moving for, they just like being paid.
We found that the people that call themselves moving companies, only happen to be moving from Seattle to Detroit. So they never stop to get the real story about what a moving company is. They just say its a moving company and then say they have a moving van. Not only that, but when they are actually moving the jobs from one city to another, they are often times just driving around in their own personal moving vans.
These companies have no real idea what to do when they get a job transfer. They come to us with a list of the jobs they are moving to, but they don’t know anything about the locations they are moving to. They just know that they are moving from Seattle to Detroit, and they just drive around in a moving van. And they sure as hell don’t do any research in between.
I would say that they do a pretty good job, but they are a bit of a joke when it comes to doing some research. I mean no one knows what to do with the ones that come to us with a list of the jobs they are moving to, let alone what to do when they get a job transfer. And I don’t think that even our own employees would know what to do when they get a job transfer either. They all just take the jobs off the list and go.
You can tell your moving company has no clue what to do when a job transfer happens because they dont even know how to address it. They just tell us what the job is and then go. I know I’m not the only one with this problem.
Actually, it might not be that bad and they might be able to deal with it. It might be more like the “I’m moving and I’m going to move this way” type of thing or the “I’m moving and I’m going to move that way” kind of thing.
All services are moving, yet most of us have no idea what we’re doing! I’m sure moving companies are hiring people with no experience or a bad attitude.
